Since update OB53, HUD layouts can also be shared as a QR. Garena’s rewards never come through a QR: they are letter and number codes typed on the Rewards Redemption Site. A QR in a video that promises Diamonds or a bundle leads somewhere else, and that is the part to be careful with.

The three kinds of QR you will see in Free Fire

QR

Where it comes from

What scanning it does

Your player QR

The My QR Code page in the game

Lets others find and add you

HUD share QR

The HUD share option (since OB53)

Opens that control layout to apply

“Free reward” QR

Videos, posts, groups

Opens a website, not the game

The first two are made by Free Fire. The third is made by whoever posted it.

Where your own Free Fire QR code is

Garena expanded the My QR Code page in the update of the Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration. Its patch notes say two things:

Images you share from the game now include your personal QR code, and you can turn this off by hand.

From the My QR Code page you can scan the codes of other players.

Nothing in those notes links a QR to Diamonds, skins or rewards. The code identifies you as a player, and someone else’s code takes you to them. That is all it does.

Turn off the QR in your shared images

If you post screenshots of your profile or a Booyah, your QR travels with them. Anyone who scans it reaches your profile. That is not dangerous on its own, since your UID is already public, but if you prefer fewer friend requests from strangers, switch the QR off in the share options before posting.

Sharing a HUD with a QR

Update OB53 added new ways to share a HUD layout: on social media, with friends in the game, by link, and by QR code. That is why HUD images with a square in the corner are now common. Scanning one opens the layout so you can apply it. It needs no login and no ID.

When you apply a shared HUD, the game may offer to sync the creator’s sensitivity too. Try the buttons first, and the sensitivity later.

Why no QR gives Diamonds or skins

Garena’s gifts follow written rules. They are published on the official Rewards Redemption Site, reward.ff.garena.com, which you reach by typing the address. Redeem codes have 12 or 16 characters, only capital letters and numbers, and rewards appear in your collection in the game.

A QR cannot be typed into that site. So a QR that promises a reward is not a Garena redeem code. It is a hidden link, and you only see where it goes after you have scanned it.

What those QR pages usually ask

A login with Facebook or Google “to send the reward”. That form sends your password to a stranger.

An app download, often an APK from outside Google Play.

Your phone number for a prize, which can start a paid subscription.

Surveys and app installs presented as “verification”.

Why the trick works so well

A QR hides the address. With a normal link you can at least read a strange name before tapping. With a square of dots you cannot, and the video around it adds pressure: “only the first 100 players”, “expires tonight”. Hurry is exactly what these posts want, because a player in a rush does not check where the page came from.

How to scan any QR safely

Read the address before opening it. Most camera apps show the link first. If it is not a Garena address you recognize, do not open it.

Never log in from a scanned page. If a reward needs your login, go to reward.ff.garena.com by typing it yourself.

Never install from a scanned link. Free Fire and its official tools come only from Google Play, the App Store or Huawei AppGallery.

Scan player codes inside the game. Use the My QR Code page to add friends, not your camera app.

If a QR already took your login

Change the password of the platform linked to Free Fire from that platform’s official app, turn on two-step verification and log out of all other sessions. Then open the game and check your UID and items. If anything changed, contact Garena support with your UID as soon as possible.

Where real free rewards come from

Real rewards come from event missions in the Event tab, the free track of the Booyah Pass, redeem codes posted by the official Free Fire accounts of your server, and gifts sent by friends from the in-game store. All of them end inside the game, and none of them needs a camera.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add a friend with a Free Fire QR code

Yes. Open My QR Code in the game and scan their code, or let them scan yours.

Can someone hack my account with my QR

No. Your QR only points to your public profile, like your UID. Only your login can open the account.

Is there a QR code for free Diamonds

No. Garena gives Diamonds through events, purchases and typed redeem codes, never through a QR.

Do QR codes work in Free Fire MAX

Both versions share the same account, so player and HUD codes work the same way.

Free Fire QR codes are real and you already have one.
