A Subway Surfers mod APK is a rebuilt copy of SYBO’s game where the numbers are changed so keys and coins never run out and characters and boards appear unlocked from the start. It is installed by hand, outside the Play Store and the App Store. SYBO’s own rules name mods and hacks as cheating, run anti-cheat in the background and let the studio take back anything obtained with a hack.
You find it as subway surfers mod apk, subway surfers mod apk unlimited coins and keys, subway surfers hack, subway surfer mod, subway surfers unlimited everything or subway surfers mod menu. Here is what each promise in that name really means.
The unlock menu, one item at a time
| What the mod shows | What really happens |
|---|---|
| Unlimited coins | The counter on your device never goes down. The studio can remove currency gained with a hack without notice. |
| Unlimited keys | Infinite revives in a run. High scores made this way are exactly what anti-cheat is built to spot. |
| All characters and boards | Unlocked locally. If your account is cancelled, you lose access to all virtual goods, bought ones included. |
| Mod menu: speed, no crash, high jump | Changes the game’s code, which SYBO’s rules forbid in so many words. |
| No ads | Often the opposite: rebuilt APKs can carry their own ads. |
What SYBO’s terms say
SYBO, the Copenhagen studio behind Subway Surfers, updated its terms of service on April 22, 2025. You accept them by installing or playing the game. Four clauses matter here:
- Cheating: you may not create, use or distribute cheats, bots or similar tools, and mods and hacks are named directly.
- Modifying: you may not modify, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the game.
- Anti-cheat: SYBO may run anti-cheat and monitoring tools in the background on your device to enforce the rules.
- Hacked currency: SYBO may take back virtual goods and currency obtained through bugs, hacks or exploits, without notice or compensation.
How long the unlimited coins last
The terms describe serious violations, cheating included, as grounds for suspension or cancellation, temporary or permanent. When an account is cancelled, the virtual goods and currency on it go too. That means the mod can cost you more than the coins it gives: the characters you bought, the boards from old seasons and years of collection.
The anti-cheat part explains why a mod often seems to work for a while. Nothing happens in the run. The check comes later, and you do not get a warning before it does.
Where the APK comes from
Mod APKs are uploaded to download sites and file hosts by people who do not sign their work. To install one, Android asks you to allow apps from unknown sources. That is the moment you hand control to someone you cannot identify. Rebuilt games can carry extra ads, ask for permissions a runner game never needs, or bundle code that has nothing to do with Subway Surfers.
There is no mod APK for iPhone. Pages that promise one for iOS lead to profiles, surveys or ad pages.
Kids are the main audience for these downloads, which makes it worse: the device is often a parent’s, with a parent’s accounts on it.
Coins and keys the game gives you for free
Subway Surfers already hands out free resources to anyone who plays daily:
- Daily challenges and missions: coins, keys and boxes for simple tasks.
- Word Hunt: collect the letters on the track to spell the daily word and get a prize.
- Season Hunt: collect the season tokens to unlock that season’s rewards.
- Watching ads: optional videos double rewards or give extra boxes.
Save your keys for runs where the multiplier is already high. One key used at a 30x multiplier is worth more than ten keys used in a bad run.
What to do if you already installed one
- Uninstall the mod and install Subway Surfers again from the official store.
- Turn off install from unknown sources in your settings.
- If you logged into Google or Facebook inside the mod, change that password.
- Check that your device has no new apps you do not recognize.
The same steps apply to any modded game. We explain the risk in more depth in our article on the Free Fire hack.
Unlimited keys and coins last until SYBO’s anti-cheat reaches your account, and then the coins, the characters and the account can go together. Free coins from daily challenges are slower, but they are still there tomorrow.
